History

The International Association of Bridge Earthquake Engineering (IABEE) is a nonprofit organization. In the days prior to the 7th National Seismic Conference (NSC), in September 2013, The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) of the US Department of Transportation held the First International Bridge Seismic Workshop. Bridge seismic engineering experts and scholars from more than 15 nations participated in the workshop in addition to the conference. During the workshop, IABEE was established, including the funding steering committee formation as well as the selection of a chairman, who will be responsible for promoting future activities and international cooperation.
